In our effort to stop Envision Durham Plan, we need you to invite as many family and friends as possible to come to this Public Hearing, engage with your elected officials, and raise concerns about these proposals.
These proposals, and the 3rd proposal specifically, will increase the cost of rent and hinder accessibility to home ownership for first-time buyers. They also directly harm existing home owners' property values and open the door to more crime.
We ask Action4Canada members to help oppose the Municipality of Clarington's Housing plan.
Ask yourself and your elected officials:
Which unintended consequences can be inferred from these proposals? (benefit/risk analysis)
How much taxpayers' money will be used to implement each proposal?
Is the Municipality acting on its own and for the benefit of its community or working with other organizations and unelected bodies to implement the agendas of others? (For example, see here the guide for Canadian Municipalities for the Development of a Housing Action Plan provided by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation)
Again, it is important that you bring as many concerned citizens with you as possible to push back on these proposals.
Special Note: Although we really need you to show up, if you are unable to attend the live in-person event on April 14, you can attend online. Watch the live stream at www.clarington.net/calendar.

If you are attending online and wish to speak at the public meeting, please pre-register at clarington.net/delegations or email clerks@clarington.net. If you are attending in person, you do not need to pre-register as a delegate to speak at the meeting.
Together we can follow A4C Winnipeg’s footsteps and stop any roll out of the 15-minute cities plan in our communities:
